SCHOOL CARNIVAL
This year's school carnival is fast approaching and again, we are asking for items to be donated for the silent auction. So, if you are a crafty person and like to make things such as woodworking, knitting, sewing, etc., as well as any purchased items, now is the time to start thinking about that special something that you can give to help raise money for our school. We are also looking for pop donations (16-20 oz bottles) for the pop toss. The carnival will be held Sunday, March 7 and the theme is “Jesus Rocks.” We ask that all donated items be dropped off at the school office by Thursday, March 4th. Any questions, call Jeanine Wells at 308-380-6285.

Consecrated, Lord, To Thee

Consecration Sunday is March 21, 2010

Many of you know the stewardship hymn that says “Take my life and let it be, Consecrated, Lord To Thee.” That hymn reminds us that all of life is an act of stewardship in response to God's grace in Jesus Christ. This year our Consecrated Stewards emphasis expands its scope to allow opportunities for service with time and talents through a Ministry Opportunity Fair on March 21 and through activities that will help us establish a program of year-round, whole-life stewardship in our congregation.

Consecrated, Lord, to Thee helps grow people; not just contribute to the working of the church. The call to commitment is based on the biblical philosophy of the need of the giver to give in joyful response to God's grace, rather than on the need of the church to receive. It is not based on the budgetary needs of the church, but on the desire to have each person grow in discipleship. Opportunity for growth in discipleship will take place during the Sundays February 28 through March 21.

•  The personal witness of some of our members.

•  Encouragement and resources for prayer.

•  Celebration of the various ministries of our congregation and community and an opportunity to commit our time and talent to those ministries at a Ministry Fair on March 21

•  A series of sermons and Bible studies on Sunday mornings, including a special Bible study on March 14 led by Pastor Marion Von Rentzell. Pastor Von Rentzell will also be our guest proclaimer on Consecration Sunday.

•  Consecration Sunday activities on March 21, including:

•  Opportunity to make a faith-based financial commitment during the worship service.

•  A special fellowship and Celebration Luncheon for all the Trinity family.

As has been the case in the past, the encouragement to commitment on Consecration Sunday takes place within the context of the morning worship service. Our Guest Leader will conduct a brief period of instruction and inspiration, and then ask our attendees and members to respond to God's leading through a financial commitment that represents a step forward in grace-motivated giving.

Every attendee and member who completes a CS Response Card does so voluntarily by attending morning worship on Consecration Sunday. We also urge people to attend who feel strongly opposed to completing a card. The procedure is done in such a way that no one feels personal embarrassment if he or she chooses not to fill out a card. Consecrated, Lord, to Thee works with people where they are and when they are ready. Members make their commitments as a confidential act of worship.

We will do no home solicitation to ask people to complete cards. Since we will make no follow-up visits to ask people to complete their cards, we will make every effort to inform, inspire, and commit everyone to attend Consecration Sunday worship and the spiritual growth opportunities leading up to that date. Thanks in advance for your enthusiastic participation in our “Consecrated, Lord, to Thee” events.

Board of Stewards
